Demo reel reads...
* In the words of Bill Davis, "it's your visual calling card."
* Randy Dudley, Former UCNS Digital Media consultant and his thoughts.
* Some advice from Pixar...who can say no to that?
All the sites, with the exception of Pixar, listed above were, how do I say this nicely, painful to look at. Nonetheless, they were quite informative and I came away with some good tips and advice.
I've narrowed it down to a Top 5 List:
1. First impressions count. Those first few seconds are the most important.
2. Filter out any work that isn't worth showing (quality over quantity).
2. Brand yourself, show potential employers your personality in that intro.
3. Don't go on too long. Keep it short, but substantial.
4. Music/Audio is important, don't pick something cliché...please.
5. Include original work, NO tutorials or work that isn't yours.
